9. What do I need to get started?

11. Why is reporting my sales to SoundScan important?
Nielsen SoundScan is an information system that tracks sales of music and music video products throughout the United States and Canada. Sales data from point-of-sale cash registers is collected weekly from over 14,000 retail, mass merchant and non-traditional (on-line stores, venues, etc.) outlets. Weekly data is compiled and made available every Wednesday. Nielsen SoundScan is the sales source for the Billboard music charts.
In today's music industry, one of the main concerns is the amount of online sales that are not being recorded. There are several reasons for this. So while you may be getting paid for those songs purchased through other sites, chances are those sales are not getting reported to SoundScan.
The more sales of a single or an album that an Artist gets, the more likely the Artist will get noticed by record labels and other music companies, and have a chance to get radio play.
12.How do I report my street/venue sales?
Contact us at info@beatlocker.com to discuss your reporting options.
13. Who can I contact if I need help?
You can always contact us with any issues or questions at info@beatlocker.com.

16. Why do I need an ISRC code?
ISRC codes are used to uniquely identify your song anytime it is played on radio or online. These are how digital single sales are tracked and reported to SoundScan.
17. What do I do with my ISRC code?
View the song details through your media manager in your artist account page. Find the ISRC code attached to the particular song. ISRC codes are generally digitally embedded in the mastering process, so you will have to re author your song with the ISRC code if you wish to distribute ISRC embedded copies anywhere other than Beatlocker.com
